This intricately carved Maori Cow Bone Necklace in the shape of a shark's tooth is a real beauty. The carving is phenomenally good.

Spiritually, Maori thought of sharks as guardian spirits. In Maori mythology, the Milky Way is the shark Te Mangoroa, placed in the sky by the god Maui. Sea creatures were believed to be the children of the god Punga. Several Maori legends talk of sharks saving them from danger.
